CONSTRUCTION
The pouring furnace consists of four basic groups:
- First group – longitudinal travel (orbit motor)
- Second group – transverse travel, including the bottom-pour stopper
- Third group – inductor with a power of 120 kW, voltage 380 V 50Hz, whose main task is to heat the liquid metal. The inductor is constantly air-cooled during operation.
- Fourth group – switchboard with a built-in transformer, contactors and control station.
POURING PROCESS
The pouring process proceeds as follows: DISAMATIC 2032 A displays the molds on the conveyor in the correct position. The correct position means that the open pouring basin in the mold is located in a position compatible with the bottom-pour stopper at the bottom of the crucible. If the desired position is achieved, the operator manually (by means of a lever) lifts the bottom-pour stopper in order to fill the mold, until the liquid metal is visible in the outflow.
The speed of pouring the molds can be adjusted depending on the diameter of the ceramic block and the orientation of the bottom-pour stopper towards the ceramic block.
CERAMICS
The manufacturer, BBC, recommends using a two-layer firebrick lining, where one layer is permanent, but the second is expendable.
The permanent lining consists of an insulating layer, which is a lightweight burned stone, and a sillimanite layer.
The expendable layer consists of a corundum material, meaning a concrete with a high clay content (94%). Both parts are connected together by means of a special cement.
The crucible inductor is located in a lining of Al₂O₃ or MgO and SiO₂, depending on the requirements.
The material used to seal the bottom-pour stopper has the quality of chamotte with different clay content.
The inductor is assembled to the pouring furnace by means of screws and a sealing compound with the proper plasticity and heat resistance.
Nedpfx Ahjzfyu Ascelf
The entire device consists of three stopper rod sleeves, a bot, and a ceramic block, where the bot and stopper rod sleeves are connected together. The bottom-pour stopper is seated on a threaded bar. The bottom-pour stopper is continuously air-cooled. Recommended air pressure: 6 atm.
CERAMICS LIFESPAN

The lifespan of the ceramics depends on many factors. The most important are: production frequency, pouring temperature, cleanliness of the liquid metal, and alloy type.
The lifespan of the upper cover and rotating cover is much longer because these parts have no direct contact with the liquid metal.
